Terms and Conditions regarding the transfers of objects by Kronos Express Courier

The listed terms and conditions constitute the contract of carriage or receipt or delivery of envelopes or packages between the sender and the Kronos Express Company, which will hereinafter be referred as the “Company”.

The Sender, by transferring or delivering envelopes or packages at the offices of the Company or a legally authorized representative, accepts the terms of the contract both for theirselves and for any third party who has an interest in the contents of the envelope or package that will be handled by the Company.

KEY TERMS
Kronos Express Company does not accept to transfer packages weighing over 50 kg, or any packages whose content is in a liquid form, or may be converted to liquid form, in case no sealed packaging is being used. Kronos Express Company does not transfer animals or foods that are sensitive to climatic conditions or require refrigeration and may be altered during transportation. The Company does not carry drugs, explosives or weapons, fragile items that are not safely packaged. Additionally, Kronos Express Company has the right, if deemed necessary, to open an envelope or package at any time and for any reason. Kronos Express Company has the right to refuse carriage of any item (envelope or package), whose content cannot, in its opinion, be transported safely and legally or is illegal under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.

In case a payment for a transfer is set to be accomplished by the receiver of the object or other third party and the receiver or the third party refuse to accept the object with payment of the transfer fee, then the object will be returned back and the sender will pay the whole transfer fee.

The same procedure will be applied in cases of cash on delivery, where the receiver must pay the value of the object in order to receive it. In case of denied cash on delivery, no package can be delivered and it will be returned back to the sender, and upon payment of the relevant transfer fees.

Kronos Express Company has no liability for damage or destruction that may be caused to the content of an envelope or package, due to improper packaging by the sender.

If sent items remain unclaimed by the receiver for more than ten (10) calendar days from the date of shipment, then they will be returned to the sender and all the transfer fees will be paid by him.

The objects’ delivery notes will be kept in the records of the Company for a period of three months from the date of issue.

VALUEABLE OBJECTS
Valuable objects, such as cash, checks, jewellery, passports etc. necessarily have to be declared on the checkouts prior to the delivery note issue, in order to be placed in a special envelope with a specific label.

In case of cash or other valuable value transportation, then the sender will have to count, in presence of a service officer of the Kronos Express Company or his authorized representative, prior to the envelope being closed. Then, such objects must be insured after the customer pays the equivalent charge, whilst indicating the amount sent on the delivery note.

If the object value is not in cash, then its value must be declared in money terms. It must also be secured, after the sender pays the amount of the corresponding charge and write the value of the object described on the delivery note, so that the sender is entitled to compensation equal to the value, in the event of loss, damage or destruction of the valuable package or envelope.

Kronos Express Company assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or destruction of envelopes or packages which may contain cash or other valuable objects that have not been declared to the Company Kronos Express on issuing the delivery note.

Kronos Express Company needs to be given full information on the receiver in order to carry valuable objects.

Upon receipt of valuable object, the receiver must provide the Kronos Express Company with identity card or passport or driver's license and sign in full.

In case of non-compliance with the above conditions, Kronos Express Company assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage or destruction of the contents of the envelope or package. Kronos Express Company reserves the right to refuse carriage of any valuable object in its sole discretion alone.

Provided all the terms and provisions be set out whereof are met, in case of loss or damage or destruction of a valuable package or envelope, Kronos Express Company will compensate its value; in case of cash or valuable item declared by value, the company will pay the equivalent amount to the delivery value and in all other cases, an amount equal to the value of the object will be paid, as required by the sender plus a maximum €100 compensation.


GENERAL LIABILITY OF THE KRONOS EXPRESS COMPANY
The Kronos Express Company’s liability for lost items is limited to refunding the amount paid to the Kronos Express Company for its transportation provided the above provisions, as well as terms and conditions are respected.

Kronos Express Company assumes no responsibility for any delay in the delivery of a package or an envelope.

Kronos Express Company assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or destruction of the content of an envelope or a package, if it was caused by reasons or causes other than the Company’s control.

DELICATE ITEMS DESPATCH
In case of delicate items despatch, being easily perishable due to climatic conditions, such as food, medicines, etc., senders are encouraged to alert the receivers to collect them promptly.

Kronos Express Company assumes no responsibility for any destruction, alteration, damage or delay in delivery of packages or envelopes that are easily perishable, regardless of the cause.

REQUIREMENTS
Anyone wishing to submit a claim for compensation to the Kronos Express Company for any loss or damage or destruction of an envelope or package that has been transferred shall, within three (3) working days from the date of dispatch of the object, submit a written request to the Kronos Express Company, giving all the information regarding the case and attaching a true copy of the delivery note.

INTERPRETATION
(A) Delivery note means the official note published by the Carrier, which is governed by the terms and conditions of transporting objects of KRONOS EXPRESS. These regulations are unaltered and no employee of the Company or a legally authorized representative of the Carrier has the right to modify them orally.
(B) Sender means the person or the company that sends the object formally and the data is indicated on the delivery note.
(C) Delivery address or Receipt address means the addresses as indicated on the official delivery note.
(D) Valuable object shall mean any item of substantial value, which the real value of, was not officially declared in writing but whose transportation was paid against a special transfer fee.
